FUNCTION CAPTAIN

Reporting to the Tour Centre Managers and working closely with the Marketing Department, your responsibilities include:

  • Assuming supervisory role for all private events hosted onsite; serve as the direct contact for all clients hosting events at the Château once the Director of Marketing and/or Special Events Manager/Group Tours and FIT Programs Manager have left the building
  • Leading by example in providing personalized and exceptional guest service at all times
  • Liaising with the Director of Marketing and/or Special Events Manager/Group Tours and FIT Programs Manager in preparation, set-up and execution of private events and specialty tours
  • Ensuring events/tours are expertly run and provide creative solutions to any problems presented
  • Responsible for end of function inventory control management and billing as needed
  • Ensure that functions and events are torn down efficiently and completely so that the Château is ready for the next business day
  • Assisting Tour Centre Manager to ensure the effective and efficient daily operation of the Tour Centre particularly in the absence of the Manager

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Tourism/hospitality experience and or education
  • Desire to build a career in tourism/hospitality
  • Dependable, responsible, leads by example
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for wine and food
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Courteous, outgoing personality
  • Second language is an asset

Compensation:
Hourly wage and bonus commensurate with experience (full-time, year-round, permanent)
